After the Silly Season

Why is it that every year we say never again, I have gained 4 kilos in 3 weeks all because of Christmas.

The last I knew of Christmas Day was I was watching the best of something on the Teev after a great Christmas lunch at my sisters place on the Central Coast and whamo lights out 3:00pm.

I went to sleep on the lounge with Two Dogs, thats my sisters shits who.

Waking up with severe pain in my neck and a wet back, several hours later, it felt like Two Dogs had peed on me and my son had given me a severe kick with his size 13's.

So what did I do, did I go and get my Tens Machine for my pain in the neck and back, no, cause I didn't take it with me did I.

My wife Mary and two children aged 20 and 19 drove down for Christmas Day with my Sister, the Brother in Law John, my niece, her hubby and especially my mum Margaret, who turns 92 in May.

Not bad for an old girl, she still lives on her own, up and down the stairs, a bit slower these days but none the less she has a few pains, "and no Peter I am not playing bowls I am still not old enough", I must get the sense of humor from her I guess", but she is doing great.

Anyway back to my back pain, as I was saying I drove most of the way from Palmy, Mary drove for about 100klms and I did the rest, 900klms on Christmas Eve, we have to be mad, only saw one prang, no coppers and about 30 bloddy speed cameras. And there not revenue raising???
It wasn't that bad, leaving at 1:00am on the 24th not much traffic, both "kids" were asleep, thank God, the trip back from Coffs was bad enough, anyway as I was saying I didn't take any machines with me, so I borrowed my sisters, I put the pads on my pain in the back and neck and before long the pain subsided and I was able to get back to what I was really doing at my sisters, cellerbrating Christmas the Aussie way, emptying the fridge of all the beer so there was room for the left over food.

One year we were all at Canberra at Marys folks place, Mary is one of 11 children, the outlaws place and my brother in law in company and I were told by the dragon lady, "you two get rid of that beer out of the bottom fridge so we can put the left overs in there", so we stayed up until dawn broke and we were very popular that day with the old girl, shes not a bad old stick, just make sure you don't get too close to her if you are near the washing machine or she'll have your undies off and in the washing machine before you know it, so now when we are together we just make out that it's Christmas and empty the fridge for the hell of it .

So how did your Christmas go, good I hope now that you have heard about mine, except for the way home we stopped at Kempsey at you guessed it Maccas, Sereena Williams sponsor, boy her hamstrigs are big arn't they, why do the call the ham strings? anyway my son Mark drove from there, well if you could have heard Mary, Mark did everything he could to make her tired day get even worse, we arrived at Coffs, pain in the back again, Mary's got a headache Tatiana Grigorieva couldn'y jump over and guess what no Tens Machine.

We only stayed at Coffs until after lunch, met all the rellies listened to a few stories told a few porkies then it was home again. Mary drove as I had had a couple of VB's with my brother in law, (emptying the fridge thing), well both kids you would swear were 5 and 6 again. Mary really had a job to keep her mind on driving.

Well we arrived home safe and sound and to the best of my knowledge no speeding fines.

And now guess you received your credit card statement, the rates, the phone bill, the electricity bills next, its only money. Now thats a pain in the neck, the rates are a pain in the back, the phone, now thats another thing, we put an std and mobile phone bar on the phone cause the kids kept saying look at our mobile bills they are the best they've been in years, funny bout that.
