Just when you thought you were heading for heaven

I must pass this story on to you about an elderly gent who was walking past my stand at a shopping centre recently.

He said "tens machines eh, got one of them,"

I thought, here we go, the signs are all over the place, TENS, Instant Pain Relief, etc etc

Well I asked him what sort of tens machine do you have, where did you buy it, do you still use it, I get a real kick at talking to the elderly, there are some great stories, some sad, but hey that's what I do I ask people do they have any PAIN.

Anyway, well call him Bill, he said "mine is in here".

I thought he was wearing the thing on his belt, but no, his tens machine was inserted under his skin.

I had heard of that before but Bill was the first to have one inserted in Queensland.

Well we got talking and he had nothing else better to do except talk to me and he was going on about being in hospital for a condition and he was really ill.

He went on to say that the nurse at the hospital had rung his wife and informed her that Bill was gravely ill and she had better get down there quick.

When his wife arrived at the hospital Bill was clinically dead.

Anyway there is a happy ending to this story.

Bills now got me right in, he said he was in hospital for months, couldn't remember anything, he couldn't eat, or do anything for himself.

Long story short he is admitted to a nursing home, he was there for twelve months and his family thought it would be a matter of time and he would pass on.

Well Bill's got news for them, this guy has reinvented himself, and 12 months after the day he was admitted to the nursing home he walks out and goes home.

By now I'm totally enthralled with Bills story.

So I asked him did he see the light, and he said "mate I was up there floating around with my mum and dad, gob smacked, I said what was it like being dead and coming back, he said he can't remember all he could remember was he saw the light.

I said, what was the first thing you did when you went home, and he said dug in his garden.

I know you had to be there but this guy just inspired me, I said it must have been the tens machine, and he just said to me, mate, I just didn't want to go.

Its a good news story.
