New Funding Model for Residential Aged Care
Using the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)

It measures only those care elements that best distinguish the costs of care. Aged care providers remain responsible for determining appropriate care interventions and treatments consistent with assessment and care planning.

This means that the use of TENS machines by your trained staff in your facility will not only gain vital points it will also cut down on costs associated with the use of professionals to administer expensive pain relief or pain management.

TENS machines are portable, they run on 2 aa batteries which will give the facility at least 6 months without having to change batteries. No extra cost.

Some older tens machines have 9 volt batteries which have limited battery life, 2 days maximum. Cost to the facility is $9.00 per battery or you could use rechargeable batteries this is another cost and another job for a staff member to put the batteries on charge every second night if they remember, more expense and more time wasted.

Once staff are trained in the use of tens machines they can put the machine on a resident or patient and walk away and do other jobs which saves money and time.
Our TN11 has a doctor lock facility so the resident or patient cannot change the modes.

It also has a timer for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes. The TN11 tens machine automatically turns off after each treatment.
