Tens in Aged Care Facilities

One of the beauties of using a tens machine is when you have pain you simply put it on and let it do its thing.

We have had many Aged Care Nurses over the years who have used the tens machines on their patients or residents.

My greatest fan of my tens machines was my mother, who bless her sole passed away last August.

Right up until her death at 93 she used the tens machine whenever she had pain.

Mum unfortunately fell whilst at her home just prior to her 93rd birthday. She had many hobbies and even though her eye sight was failing she still, worked her stamp collection and her photos she had collected over her lifetime.

Whilst doing this one day she over balanced fell and broke her femur.

Now the "tough old bird" as she liked to call herself, went through a rehabilitation process after the bone was pinned.

During her rehab she used her tens unit on her leg daily. She was up and walking in no time, but like all breaks the older you are the quicker arthritis sets in.

We have many facilities who over the years have purchased machines and use them to give the patients or residents some relief. Especially to the ones who have no ability to walk and who are either confined to bed or don't have the money to purchase a tens machine.

So if you have a mother or father, grand mother or grandfather who are in a facility and you think they would benefit from the use of a tens machine get the facility to either purchase one or two tens machines and then get them to buy your loved one a set of their own electrodes and get them some real pain relief.

See you next time
