Here we are again speaking about pain and pain management.

Now most of us will all enjoy the rest of our lives living in peace and free of pain.

But unfortunately there are people out there who have a daily problem with pain and don't know how to manage their pain without using prescription drugs.

Now Tens has a way of giving people an alternative.

Tens is now being used in Aged Care Facilities, Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation TENS is a drug-free pain management technique that applies small amounts of electricity to nerve endings beneath the skin.

It is used to treat a wide range of conditions, neuropathy, arthritis, back pain, frozen shoulder and other types of joint pain, muscle pain and post surgical pain.

Other theories suggest that the electrical impulses delivered to brain during TENS treatment may increase levels of chemicals in the brain that relieve pain, such as endorphins.

Still other theories suggest that electrical stimulation such as that delivered by TENS may:
Inhibit overactive nerves
Restore disturbed neuronal pathways
Improve blood flow
Strengthen muscles
Numb the painful area.

I have been away for the past two weeks and luckily i took my TENS with me, I was away with a mate and brother in law, and we were at a place where newspapers are not delivered, the only contact is via carrier pidgeon.

Well my mate did his back in on the second day of the trip, just as well I packed the TENS, after two days he is back and giving cheek again and doing the secret mens business.

I also needed to use it as well as the type of activity that we were doing required a good 4 hour session on about the 7th day, my neck was BAD, but after the session with my TENS, my neck was OK, I gave it another session on the next day using the big butterfly pad and the pain has disappeared. We have been back for 3 days and back at work yesterday, although a bit tired I have no neck soreness at all.

You never know when you will injure yourself, or aggravate an old injury and as long as you have your TENS at least you can give yourself a session no matter where you are in the world, because the TENS works on 2 AA batteries and we guarantee 6 months out of a set of 2 batteries, no need for electricity.
