TENS machine common questions answered
What are TENS machines?
The word TENS is an acronym for (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) and is a highly effective form of pain relief using electrical pulses.

How does a TENS unit work?
The TENS machine comes with self adhesive pads which are placed on or near the pain area. Soothing pulses are sent via the tens pads through the skin and along the underlying nerve fibres. The pulses suppress pain signals to the brain. TENS also encourages the body to produce natural pain killing chemicals called Endorphins. The muscles are will also be stimulated using the TENS unit and blood flow is increased to help with the rehabilitation of injuries and soreness.

What makes a Logistim TN11 unit better than other machines?
Imagine combining ease of use, state of the art technology and stylish design, in one TENS unit. The Logistim offers more than an average TENS unit. Intuitive Operation Stylish flip design, large CD display, 5 operating modes, all parameters shown edit & feel function, 3 selectable wave forms.

How long does pain relief last using a TENS?
Each person reacts and feel different levels of pain. Some people experience pain relief for days after a short treatment, whilst others need to use their unit for longer periods and other peoples' pain disappears completely.

Is Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) used for medical or cosmetic purposes?
Our MK111 units are fully compliant with strict medical device regulations and are used for pain relief and also muscle reeducation. However, some companies do sell EMS machines only for cosmetic toning. We at TENS Relief have a strict compliance and use the EMS in the MK111 as what they are designed for.

How does Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) work?
EMS works by stimulating muscles by means of tiny electric impulses. These impulses travel to the body via electrode pads. The MK111 has 9 ems modes which are pre programmed.
Mode 3 is used as a knee protocol for pain relief. The MK111 will work the muscle and rest the muscle. If you do gym work or have weights at home to build muscle, the MK111 will rhythmically contract and relax the muscles, allowing you to build or work muscles around the painful area. The timers are set at 15 minute increments.

Will the MK111 work for me?
Our Electronic Muscle Stimulators are used worldwide and recommended by sports coaches, physiotherapists, doctors and other medical practitioners.
